Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Isanti Primary School! My name is Mr. Dordal and I have been the principal at our school since 2013.  It is an honor and privilege to serve and lead our school.  At Isanti Primary you will get a sense of care, compassion, and family as soon as you walk through the doors.  

We educate students from birth through 2nd grade at IPS.  We have a dedicated staff that are committed to meet our vision and mission each day. 

Our vision at Isanti Primary is:
We teach and value our children as if they are our own. 

Our entire staff is focused on helping each child be an outstanding citizen with our focus on our five Bluejacket Character Traits: respect, responsibility, compassion, honesty, and self-discipline.  Our positive behavior interventions and support program (PBIS) is recognized among the top in the state with a focus on foundational skills for student success beyond.

In addition to helping students be outstanding citizens focused on character, we want our students ready for the ever changing world.  This includes helping each student love to read and be problem solvers.  Our classrooms are set up with individual libraries beyond our amazing Media Center to continue our literacy focus and instruction. We also offer Media, P.E., Art, and Music as our special rotations throughout the year.

We welcome you as families to join our active PTO.  Our PTO partnership is strong and focused on helping our students and school.  It is common to have some type of event planned each month such as Reading Nights, Family Game Night, Santa Day, Spring Carnival, etc.  We meet monthly, one evening a month.  Stay tuned for the dates and the meeting formats.

Communication is critical for all of us, so don’t hesitate to call or email any questions or concerns to our staff or myself.  We are here to partner with you to help your child meet their potential each and every day.
